Stemcut Chilli — Precision Cut for Industrial Processing
Stemcut red chillies are Guntur dry red chillies processed with precision stem cutting to a uniform cut length, cleaned and sorted for consistent quality. This specification is the preferred raw material form for oleoresin extraction, chilli powder milling, and high-volume spice processing operations — delivering higher throughput and more uniform capsaicin yields compared to whole or randomly broken material.

Why Stemcut Chilli for Industrial Processing?
Oleoresin & Capsaicin Extraction
Oleoresin extraction plants and capsaicin isolation facilities require chilli raw material that maximises extraction efficiency. Whole dried chillies, even when stemless, have varying pod lengths, wall thicknesses, and cross-sectional profiles that create inconsistent solvent contact during the extraction process. Stemcut chillies, by contrast, offer a uniform cut profile that exposes the inner pod surface area consistently — allowing solvent penetration to proceed more evenly and completely, improving oleoresin yield per tonne of raw material.
For high-volume oleoresin processors operating continuous extraction lines, the consistency of stemcut material directly impacts production throughput and extraction batch uniformity. Processing facilities that have switched from whole chilli to stemcut inputs commonly report improved batch-to-batch consistency in oleoresin quality parameters including capsaicin concentration and color value.
Chilli Powder Milling
Industrial chilli powder mills benefit from stemcut material for two primary reasons. First, uniform cut pieces feed into grinding equipment more consistently than randomly sized whole chillies, reducing the risk of equipment blockages and improving milling throughput. Second, the pre-cut format reduces the work that hammer mills and pin mills must perform, reducing energy consumption per tonne of powder produced and extending mill component service life.
For integrated spice facilities that process both oleoresin and powder from the same base material, stemcut chilli provides a single input format compatible with both downstream processes — simplifying procurement and reducing the number of raw material variants that must be managed.
Comparison: Stemcut vs Whole vs Stemless

|---|---|---|---|
| Extraction Efficiency | Highest (uniform exposure) | Good (no stem contamination) | Lower (variable size) |
| Milling Performance | Best (consistent feed size) | Good | Variable |
| Food Safety | High (stem removed) | Highest (full de-stem) | Standard |
| Price Per Tonne | Moderate premium | Higher premium | Base price |
| Ideal For | Oleoresin, powder milling, extraction | Food processing, EU/US retail | Traditional trade, spice markets |
| Moisture Standard | ≤ 10% | ≤ 10% | ≤ 12% |
Our Stemcut Processing at Gaman Impex
Stemcut chilli is produced at our processing facility in Guntur using a multi-stage protocol designed to deliver consistent cut quality and clean input material for downstream processors.
Raw Material Selection
Only dried chillies meeting baseline quality standards for moisture, color, and absence of pest damage are accepted for stemcut processing. Variety purity is verified at intake — stemcut orders can be processed as single-variety or blended lots per buyer specification.
Pre-Cleaning
Chillies pass through a cleaning scalper that removes loose dust, fine debris, and extraneous material before the cutting stage. This reduces contamination carry-through into the finished stemcut product and protects cutting equipment from abrasion by grit and sand particles.
Precision Stem Cutting
Chillies are fed through calibrated cutting machinery that removes the stem end at a consistent cut point, producing uniform cut pods. The cut setting is adjusted based on variety and pod size to achieve the target cut profile specified by the buyer's process requirements.
Post-Cut Cleaning & Aspiration
After cutting, material passes through an aspiration system that removes fine dust, loose seed fragments, and small pod pieces generated during the cutting process. This step is critical for achieving the <1% foreign matter specification in the finished product.
Sorting & Quality Check
A final visual inspection pass on a conveyor belt allows trained workers to remove any visibly defective pods — discoloured, mouldy, or heavily damaged pieces — that passed through the machine cleaning stage. This ensures the finished lot meets the colour and quality parameters agreed with the buyer.
Moisture Verification & Packing
Moisture content is measured on the finished batch before packing. Stemcut chilli is packed in 25kg food-grade PP bags with inner PE liner, sealed and labelled with variety, batch number, moisture content, and origin for full traceability from Guntur to the destination facility.
